EXPRESS HOST RANGERS IN REMATCH OF LAST YEARS PLAYOFF LOSS

Erie,PA: This Saturday the Erie Express will host the Pittsburgh Rangers . The Rangers come into the game with a 5-2 record. Their only 2 losses were to the Pennsylvania Jaguars 28-13 and the WPA Wildcatz 26-24. They are 1-2 in the PAFL. Last year the Rangers ended the Express Season in Pittsburgh 21-20. A game where the Express offense nearly doubled that of the Rangers yet could not hold onto the ball with 9 turnovers. The Rangers defense is led by LB-Rashad Washington. Rashad was an All-Pro selection last year and had signed with the Express at the beginning of the season but the travel became too much for him coming from Pittsburgh. Offensively they are led by Christian Jackson who has 9 catches for 114 yards. Most impressively are his return game stats where he averages 31.5 per kickoff return and 43.4 per punt return. Jackson too was an All-Pro selection in 2014.
Erie comes into the game at 5-1 having posted back to back wins over the NWPA Rampage 49-12 and the Ohio Gladiators 26-0 last week. Erie’s only loss came to the South Buffalo Celtics 55-19 three weeks ago. Erie will have back All-Pro players WR-Terry Jackson and DL-Dajuan Smith this week as their season with the Explosion is now over. Erie’s offense is led by RB-Allen Jones who comes into the game with 868 yards on the ground and 12 TD’s. Jones ran for 189 and a TD last week against the Gladiators. The defense is led by LB-Tony D’Albora who last week racked up 15 tackles against the Gladiators bringing his season total to 68.
Kickoff is set for 5pm at Cathedral Prep Events Center. LIVE Updates available via Twitter (@ExpressErie) and Facebook (Erie Express Football)
