EXPRESS BEGIN FIRST ROUND OF PAFL PLAYOFFS

Erie,PA: This Saturday the #4 Erie Express will host the #5 Western PA Wildcatz in the first round of the PAFL Playoffs. Erie comes into the game at 10-1 while the Wildcatz come in at 9-3. The Wildcatz three losses came to the Pennsylvania Jaguars 2x both times by 7 points and the South Buffalo Celtics 20-7 a game called in the first quarter due to lightning. Erie’s only loss was week 1 of the PAFL season to the South Buffalo Celtics 55-19. They returned the favor 2 weeks ago at home handing the Celtics their first loss in three years 23-15.
     Erie will rely on the legs of Allen Jones and the arm of Chance Anzivine to put up the points needed for victory. Both players have set new Express single season marks this year and both were awarded with All-Pro Status. Javon Rowan has been Anzivine’s favorite target connecting for 9 touchdowns on the season. The Wildcatz have their quarterback from last season back for the playoffs. He was out of state until last week and led the Wildcatz to a 26-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Rangers.
     The Express Defense is led by DL Serge Augustin (17 sacks), Tony D’Albora (111 tackles) and Darrell Fincher (7 INT’s). The Wildcatz bring one of the top defenses in the league with them this Saturday as well led by DL- Dana Brown Jr who leads the team with 15 sacks.
     This is the second meeting between the two teams. Erie lost 38-12 in 2013 at home. A game in which the Express turned the ball over 9 times, 5 of which were ran back for scores. The Express out gained the Wildcatz offensively 330-120 but could not hold onto the ball.
