The Erie Express open the PAFL portion of their season this Saturday as they travel to Buffalo, NY to take on the defending PAFL Champion South Buffalo Celtics. Erie brings a perfect record of 3-0 into the contest with wins over #17 Lockport Rampage (17-16), Mid West Rams (24-0) and Pittsburgh Jaguars (34-32). The Express game against the Ohio Golden Knights went down as a DNF as the game was called due to the weather. South Buffalo brings a perfect record into the contest as well but of a different sort. This will be the season opener for the Celtics after completing an amazing 2014 season. The Celtics won the PAFL Championship, National Title, and were 12-0 last season. In five years of play the Celtics have never lost at home. Last year the Express played them close in Buffalo eventually losing 21-14, then dropped to 0-2 against them on the season with a 38-7 (10-7 Halftime) loss in Erie.

Erie will be without several starters this game DB-Dwaon Woodard, WR-Javon Rowan, TE-Zack Mayr, DL-Thomas Wallace will miss the game as will ATH-Chris Corder, ATH-LaDon Miller, DB-James Saunders, DL-Demetris Stevenson.

Even with that many starters out Director of Operations Paul Pennington still likes Erie’s chances in the contest. “South Buffalo is the #1 team in the country. They are the best team we have faced so far but they have not played a game yet. We hope to use our experience playing a tough non league schedule to prepare us for league play to our advantage. We were right there with them last year in both games. If we play smart football and focus we can beat them. Our guys are well rested and are excited for this matchup”.

Kickoff is set for 4pm at Buffalo State University. LIVE updates will be available via Twitter (@express erie) and Facebook (Erie Express Football). There will be a LIVE webcast of the game. The link can be found on our Facebook page.
